I don't know how Facebook really does in other areas such as: supporting non-profits and support groups? In terms of school friends, I find it as a mixed bag! Due to the reason of a mix bag of privacy from Facebook, some decided to head to Ning network to socialize. Some have their own networks or Twitter! I also take the advantage of live streaming of information from Facebook rather than doing much of the major connections of friendships. (there are only a few that I do!)
Don't we all complain
especially when it comes to setting up router for your computers. I do
not even know too many of the computer sales-person or technician want
you to know that much about the operating system. I also do not know
they even know the latest security threats unless they are really
enthusiast or they do care about you coming back and buy again from the
same place. That is nice to know. All right, I sound cynical. I am.
Yet, I do cave into the customer of buying more then what I need. I do
not like to buy more than I need for my latest technology. Space for my
apartment is limited. I got this little router by LINKSYS. Setup was
easy at first, but there are some problems now that I do not have a
resolution or the brain capacity to deal with. I am using creative ways
to deal with reviews of my new router's potential overheating by
installing another router that I have, D-Link. It did not produce
results, rather now I am stuck with a bigger problem then originally
had. D-Link has an easy setup program for me to go through again if I
made a boo-boo. With Windows Vista's complex idea of security and
networking, the router(s) were very unhappy. The connections were sad.
I was sad with the first wireless networking attempt. I was bewildered
with how Vista's networking are so difficult to navigate, but for a
good reason, in the name of the security. I am still in this day
navigating through the Windows Vista's features. After having this for
a few months, stick with the familiar if you can, Windows XP. I could
not because I decided that the time for parting with XP was a few
months ago and there were some security issues that are still not
resolved. My old laptop is still running XP beta 3 and will not upgrade
til the resolution satisfy this user. For now, I will put up with dual
boot of Windows Vista and one of the Linux favours. (hey the most
popular distro, can you guess?)
