Windows 7 beta

If you do not know or may not keep in tune with the world of technology, Microsoft currently are giving a limited time a public beta(testing the operating software) for the people who are brave or tech know hows to use the upcoming new operating system of Windows.  I took the time to download the operating software and since I have a high-speed internet, it did not take too long to download.  It did not take too long to burn the DVD image.  If you do not know what it means to burn the image, it defines as: An ISO image is an archive file (a.k.a. disk image) of an optical disc using a conventional ISO (International Organization for Standardization) format that is supported by many software vendors. ISO image files typically have a file extension of .ISO but Mac OS X ISO images often have the extension .CDR.*

I am going to only briefly describe my experiences thus far with my Windows 7 beta journey.

First I did use my older computer to install the beta operating software.

It took about approx 45min long w/o internet connection.

Specifications of the computer:

Aspire 5003 WLMi Mobile AMD Turion 64 ML32

15"4 screen

512MBDDR RAM

100GB HDD

DVD Dual Double Layer

Used Approx 32 GB par 2 drive, which was the Windows XP drive

The other par went to Ubuntu

Partition- (par)- In computing, a logical partition, commonly called an LPAR, is a subset of computer's hardware resources, virtualized as a separate computer. In effect, a physical machine can be partitioned into multiple LPARs, each housing a separate operating system.

Generally, Microsoft kept their word on improving their operating system with older and netbook systems.  I did wonder about the graphics view in older computers.  I did adjust to lower resolution.  The pixels looked funny.  Some pictures looked okay.  The navigation system is a bit less frustrated then Vista. Unless you are still using Windows XP.  Or you are not use to Linux or Mac platform.  Hint, hint!
